Thank you all for the comments. Of course I don't want to blame anyone when I can't know for sure, but I also wanted to put it out there in case anyone else got sick.

And yes I thought about everything I ate that day and IF it was food poisoning it seems more likely that it was from someone not washing their hands then everything else I ate. But maybe it was a bug, I'll never know.

is it not possible that you just got a bug for a day? It seems unfair to blame a vendor just because you ate there the day prior. It would be one thing to say, "husband got sick, wondering if anyone else did or if we just got a bug," and something else entirely to say "likely the result" of the street fair. Playing the blame game is no good.

Bellebottomblues you have every right to be suspect. You have to be very savvy when eating from street vendors. This could be a possibility so yes scout around and exercise the process of elimination.

Scout around and do what exactly? Put on your food poisoning x-ray goggles?

I got hit with that a few years ago. I got sick a few hours after eating lunch. I first thought it was food poisoning, but later figured out I got hit with that virus that nail people on cruise ships every now and then. It was a miserable two days for me in bed.

Another one that hits people after eating seafood and drinking alcohol is iodine overload. Too much iodine (alcohol aggravates the situation) gives you food poisoning like symptoms. Some people are genetically sensitive to iodine (this includes me.. I avoid iodized salt).

Yeah--don't assume food poisoning. I thought I had it when my partner and I got violently sick within an hour of each other after eating out. I even called the restaurant and complained. When my mother got the same thing two days later, and then her friend a day after that, we knew it wasn't food poisoning, but probably norovirus. A lot like food poisoning, but not.

also, what else did you eat that day? or the day prior? sometimes food poisoning can go back to what you ate 24 hours prior.

Hi-Yes, hot mac and cheese empanada. I'm assuming it was this and not the v burgers since my baby did not have the vburger, and my husband had most of the empanada and was the sickest.

My daughter had the chicken and cheddar empanadas. She seemed fine this morning. Were they hot? The lady told us our first choice (pulled pork) was unavailable because it was not hot yet. I assumed she meant they weren't cooked enough yet.

Hi everyone,

Had so much fun at this Saturday's street fair! Unfortunately we all got sick on Sunday and was most likely a result of something we ate at the fair. We had the veggie burgers and empanadas... thinking it was the latter since my husband got the sickest and I only had a bite.

Just wondering if anyone else got sick. That is all...thank you!
