What arrogance and putdowns? This is business, or at least it is when you start to talk numbers. Real estate numbers always need to be in context or they are meaningless. Would you think a stock investment growing 3% was great if similar stocks were doing 10-15%? And 15% growth would be terrible if inflation were 17%.

BTW TriBeCa numbers: 5.1% 1-year change 3.3% 1-year forecast, far below Downtown. We're talking about growth, not prices.

No hate, just perspective. I respect your stones for being a more adventurous gentrifier than I was moving Downtown in 97, but don't throw data if you don't want data thrown back! In The Rise & Fall of Great Powers Historian Paul Kennedy makes the case that after 1500 China didn't fail as a state, it just didn't keep up with Europe. Maybe Greenville's day will come, but the comparison says it's not here yet. The growth projection is 1/3 that of the Heights.
to be fair, i don't see where user111 was boasting that greenville was doing better than dtjc; i think he or she was simply that the fact that home values are up.

someone in tribeca could look at the home price improvements in dtjc, and still say that jc is for mere peasants! what's with all the arrogance and putdowns?

EDIT: Damn that site can be addictive. Looked at Brooklyn. Park Slope's number are just slightly over Heights. Bed-Stuy is same as Greenville. Ft Green is out of control, 24.2% 1-year change 7.5% 1-year forecast
