JERSEY CITY — Decriminalizing marijuana has wide support among Jersey City voters, while legalizing pot altogether is popular but more divisive, according to a poll commissioned by Mayor Steve Fulop.

Asked if small amounts of marijuana should be legal to sell, 50 percent of those surveyed said yes and 41 percent said no. Asked if pot should be legal to possess, 48 percent said yes and 45 percent said no.

Legalizing pot is most popular in Downtown's Ward E, where 68 percent are in favor, and least popular in Wards A and C (Greenville and Journal Square), where only 41 percent are in favor.
