You won't have a problem. Our church gives out granola bars at Grove path station and no issues. You shouldn't have problems either unless your business is an escort service or something like that. What's your business?

What's wrong with escort service!

I don't know but I see it being done all the time by take-out restaurants and car services, usually near PATH stations. I doubt any of those people get a permit for that. Although, given the large PATH police presence around the Journal Square station, that might be a place where it is more likely you are told to take a hike.

Hey everybody. I was wondering if people might be able to answer this question for me.

Is there anything in the law that prevents a business from just handing out free stuff to pedestrians walking by on the street? For example, when you go to those street fairs throughout JC, and people are walking from table to table, local businesses always giving out free stuff.

Is there anything that says that it's illegal for a business to, as an example, go to journal square on a normal day and hand out free pencils with a company logo on it to every passerby that will accept it? There's nothing being sold, it's just handing out free stuff.

Any insight would help. Thanks!
