This. It's super easy. It's only $1 dollar, but it only takes a few seconds to swing by the desk to get the ticket validated for the discount. Afterwards, you proceed to the pay machines in the lot and the discount is applied automatically.

You do? I haven't heard of that. I've never seen anything posted to that effect. How do you get the discount?

had an encounter with an extremely aggressive "parking lot attendant" who seemed to be overseeing a vacant lot near the trump building. friend parked there for about 15 min while about to meet-up for a quick hello after jc bike tour. came back and there was a dude hovering over it waiting for a tow truck. threatened friend that he would be arrested for theft of services if he removed car. spouted obscenities, racist and xenophobic remarks...just downright a hostile and sickening person. friend took car and told him to shove it. i wonder how prevalent this is or who this person was. I was shocked at the overly aggressive attitude.

Seriously? If you are a JC Resident you even get a discount for the mall parking. Why would you risk it? Just park in the garage for a couple of bucks after doing your shopping. They have spotters and they will get you.

Avoid the scar...pay to park your car.

yeah srsly, i did the same thing once, not that long ago - two trips, one to shop rite, and one to the mall. left my car there not even for 45 minutes, and it was gone when i came back.

also a scarring experience, and will never happen to me again either (but mostly in part because i refuse to give that shop rite my business anymore).

Seriously.

OP, you've been towed before, so you know how expensive and time consuming it can be to get your car back. Pay for the parking at the mall. Would you rather pay less than $10 for parking or a couple hundred to get your car back?

How vigilantly do they still monitor the Shoprite/BJs parking lot? I need to go shopping both at the supermarkets and the mall, and I wonder if it is somewhat ok for me to leave my car in the lot while going to the mall? I would hate to do two separate trips there.

I have had my car towed once from that lot many years ago, and it has left a huge scar that I never want it to happen again.
