If anyone has more ideas for posters let me know!

Like. Chico isn't capable of handling the responsibilities that have been given him. It's sad that he was ever put in this position to begin with. Opportunism.

Just to change the subject for a moment, at about 5:15pm, I saw a certain HCIA employee on the Blvd., in his HCIA vehicle with his son sitting beside him.

Hmmmm.

Getting back to Chico, the JJ article today had no mention of Mayor Fulop. Was he contacted about the latest developments for comment? He's usually no shrinking violet when it comes to having an opinion . . .

It dissolved more than two years ago, thanks in part to the Ledger's investigative reporting on it starting back in 2012.

Thanks for making my point. Got anything closer to 2015, as far as investigative reporting? I did use the njdotcom search feature using 'Newark Watershed' and there isn't any investigative stuff at all recently.

That's just not true, they've been on this as far back as 2012. Here are just two stories I found by Googling. Dave Giambusso was absolutely on this story.

I see one story about the Mets internship. In the last two or three years, there have been countless on the watershed. Just looking at the last six months leaves out a lot of the coverage.

The SL doesn't really cover Jersey City, so no. I've been zealous here, but I don't cover Newark so I can't be zealous about OPRA requests there.

Whatever happens ... he's going to grow," he said. "Out of the most adverse situations are our greatest periods of growth in life. I hope that's what happens" - Bill O'Dea,

Hopefully that growth is achieved rapidly and involves maturity, morality, and an understanding of civic responsibility... all of which would direct him to "resign."

JCMan, enjoy having the councilman who makes false statements that accuse innocent citizens of wrongdoing to the police, circumvents policies, and blatantly steals from the public he is supposed to represent be a decider on whether or not the 'formula business' provision is adopted. I'm sorry that you cannot see the connection between policies being adopted and the role and integrity of council members.

Aside from that, personally, I would describe Duane Reade as a dump. My personal opinion aside, while I dont know where to find the actual proposal so that I can read it, I imagine existing chains (such as duane reade, which is technically a "grocery store" anyway and thus exempt) are grandfathered in when it comes time to renew their 20-30 year leases.

Separately, thank you Terrence McDonald for some stand-up investigative journalism.

Monroe, all this reporting comes courtesy of the JJ, and Newark is out of our coverage area. We stick to Hudson County. But our good friends at NJ Advance Media and the Star-Ledger have covered the Watershed stuff pretty relentlessly. I just took at a peek at our archives (which includes Ledger stories) and see countless stories about the Watershed business.

You're damn right. One issue is a mayor who wants to take action that would effectively ban many chain stores downtown, raising the possibility places like Duane Reade can't renew their lease and get replaced by dumps. This would impact many people's daily life, no one asked for it, and it's entirely preventable.

The other is run of the mill corruption. A public official who may be dirty, shocking! Instead of there being 1,000,000 ways our taxpayer money is wasted we are down to 999,999, which will go up in the next election anyway.

By all means investigate this guy and if he's found to have committed wrongdoing, go after him. But don't be so arrogant or small minded to make passive aggressive remarks about how we deserve bad things for not caring enough about what you consider important. And here's a novel thought: people can care about both issues.

Good job Jersey Journal / Terrence T. McDonald for staying on top of this!

Here are the GPS records of his government vehicle. Anybody recognize any of the locations? I see a couple 3am stops at Hollywood Fried Chicken.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/260134163/G ... man-Khemraj-Chico-Ramchal

Chico is definitely dirty, dirty, dirty. Is he dealing drugs, whoring, or something worse?

Now, I don't know this guy and have no right to blame someone for being a dope dealer, but until someone can provide a legitimate excuse for this guy's frequent "home visits" that last for mere minutes, then what the hell is he doing making all these stops after midnight to people all over the place? Seems suspoicious to me and I could care less if I am accusing this dirtbag of anything....as far as I am concerned, he's pocketed a percentage of my property taxes for the past however long he has been abusing the system in JC. Can't wait until the "higher ups" start getting their own due justice also. Obviously, it's just not the lower end workers abusing this system. Kudos to the magnificent reporters that brought this all to light...too bad out own city employees and MAYOR do not possess the integrity to do these inspections on their own.

I have proposed this possibility to friends but I also wonder if he simply allowed a "friend" to use his car? Maybe an "associate"?

Whether the elected person was a public school teacher or county employee, the elected person always had time off to function as a councilperson. If Chico is guilty of this, then there are a boat load of former council people who are guilty of the same thing.
