I'm hoping you can buy stuff by the piece, or shiskabob style with beer on tap. I don't like that ticket or per booth thing

Hamilton Park BBQ Festival in Jersey City to offer tasty food, music

Barbecue, bands, and food from top local restaurants highlight the Hamilton Park BBQ Festival in Jersey City on Saturday.

There will be a mechanical bull, face painting, a bouncy castle, and such bands as the Gully Hubbards, Sons of Ham and Accidental Seabirds.

Food will be provided by Dinosaur Bar-B-Cue, Ben's Barbecue and Catering, Delaney Barbecue, Cholita Dessert Bar and Milk Sugar Love, among others.

Milk Sugar Love, a personal favorite, will offer four flavors of ice cream - honey corncake, vanilla bean, morning bacon and jalape?o peace sorbet.

The event, in its fifth year, will run from noon to 8 p.m., and will be held rain or shine. Proceeds benefit the Hamilton Park Conservancy. The park is located at 232 Pavonia Ave., Jersey City.
