Project Greenville, a local community organization that aims to bring to light some of the positives of Jersey City?s Greenville neighborhood, will host ?JC Parks Rock!? as part of JC Fridays.

Elizabeth Deegan, a Greenville resident and Project Greenville?s main event organizer, said the organization is trying to showcase the entire city?s open spaces, including public parks, community gardens, playgrounds, farmers markets, and historic cemeteries.

The event will run from 4 to 7 p.m. today and tomorrow as part of the JC Fridays program.

Deegan added that she has worked closely with the South Greenville Neighborhood Association and the Columbia Park Greenville Memorial organization, and has been inspired by both organizations? hard work in beautifying and improving the neighborhood.

?I thought it would be nice if people wanted to share their drawings, paintings, photos, etc., of parks and other spaces in their own neighborhoods,? she said. ?The sharing of (these things) would help people to appreciate how lucky we are to live in a city that has so many types of these spaces. Hopefully, people will take note of what they have in their own area, and appreciate it more.?
