Did you know that Heidi Swedberg who played Susan ( George's fiance in Seinfeld) now plays ukulele in a band?

Just read your post. I this sounds like it could be fun. I sing harmonies and have played guitar, bass, mike, mandolin for years, though my primary instrument is the guitar. Would be happy to chat about your post.

Check out the Art House at Two Boots music series. They've had an acapella group there and a few folk singers. The Lamp Post also has an acoustic night one Wednesday a month, the organizer is Thomas John Carlson from JC Art School and he can likely point you in the right direction.

Hi! I'm new to Jersey City and to JCList.

I'm interested in finding or helping to form groups, open mics or jams for:

1) Ukulele
2) Folk music
3) Small-group singing with close harmonies

I'm an amateur singer and a rather good harmonist in Downtown Jersey City. I play ukulele and have a nodding acquaintance with keyboard and guitar. I just took a class at Jalopy in Red Hook, where we worked on pieces like "Wayfaring Stranger" and "Long Time Traveling." It would be great to sing with other folks without traveling 1.5 hours each way. :)

Would love to hear from people with similar interests!
