The Jersey City Community Awareness Series (CAS) will mark a milestone on Oct. 19 with its 36th anniversary celebration featuring jazz legend Lou Donaldson at the Miller branch of the Jersey City Free Public Library.
The 86-year-old, who is deemed one of the greatest alto saxophonists of all time, has performed alongside jazz artists such as Art Blakey, Clifford Brown, Horace Silver and Thelonious Monk.
He is excited to bring Donaldson's musical heartbeat to Jersey City. The jubilee will begin at 8 p.m. in the library's cultural arts center, 489 Bergen Ave.
Everyone is welcome to attend and adults are encouraged to accompany children.
