Part of county taxes take care of the homeless. How it is spend, I don't know. By the way, the small homeowner pays 100%, tax abated pays 5%, and affordable housing - nothing to the county. So instead of raising taxes for these services, perhaps, we should stop giving out abatements so taxes can be collected.

Maybe it's time to raise taxes so that mentally ill people can be better cared for in a secure facility.

sounds like another mental health issue whereby the prison system will be used as an asylum with little or no treatment for these sorts of people that really need mental care in a hospital environment
