It's true, but it's largely quantity over quality. See, for example, an eighth grader named Norman Kirby whose doodles are currently on display at Brunswick Window. He also defaces buildings with those stupid circles. We shouldn't be glamorizing talentless criminals.

Yeah its a little sad that those really talented in Jersey City, head to NY to get noticed - they do exists though. As noted by a few pieces at Freshly Printed. We all need to be more involved in order to see art here in Jersey City and for Freshly Printed to stick around.

Come on, they just opened. No need to ruin the place so soon.

There are many really talented local artist in JC who up until this point have had nowhere to show in our hood. I'm excited to see what Freshly Printed brings in the coming months.

I stopped in a week or so ago and the owner showed me around. I was impressed. He's definitely a people person, enthusiastic, and loves to talk art. High quality stuff on the walls and prints and cards for sale in the center bins. Mostly Australian artists are represented. I would love to see some local stuff in there.

They also have silkscreen and magnet printing services.

I've popped my head in a few times, super friendly Australians working there. Their art is new contemporary, I think its a great addition to Jersey City and really hope they stick around.
Art is pricey but they also sell limited edition prints... I'll be buying some for myself and gifts for friends, very high quality.
