I had ACL surgery last month at HSS. https://www.hss.edu/physicians_difelice-gregory.asp

Dr. DiFelice is very good at listening to what your goals are and tailoring recovery to that.

Went to Orthopedic doctor. Visual / Physical exam = probably meniscus tear etc. Advised to get MRI on right knee. May want second opinion on result. I'm sure the doctor will be pleased to do a meniscectomy. But I read with some physiotherapy, some shots, rest, recovery will be the same without surgery.

Need a recommended doctor in JC or Manhattan for second opinion and any advice from the crowd. Many thanks again.

I highly recommend Answorth Allen at HSS - I've sent players over to him with great results. He is very conservative and will NOT recommend surgery unless really needed. Very cool guy, to boot. I've found the Jersey docs to be trigger-happy for surgery.

Love Gotham City Orthopedics too. Did my son's concussion screening through them, and then ended up there when older son injured his shoulder. He is a club swimmer, and he totally hit it off with Dr Lager because he swam D-1 in college. Great sports med practice. Highly recommend.

Adam Bernstein of Garden State Orthopedists in Hoboken was awesome. Very good bedside manner and is not a surgery pusher. I had a torn meniscus and between the surgery and my PT I was healed in record time. Cannot recommend him/them enough. They were really great with handling insurance, and setting up my PT etc.

I also reccomend this office also close to the PATH station. Just keep in mind some are not MDs but physicians? assistants. Can do the same as a doctor excep surgery.

I had a good experience with Seaport Orthopedics on Beekman St. in Manhattan. Not Hudson County, but more accessible by public transportation than most of Hudson County is (couple blocks from the WTC PATH). I saw Dr. Marc Levinson, but each Dr specializes so you may end up seeing a different one.

Their spine surgery specialist - Dr Jeffrey Goldstein, pretty much saved my sister-in-law's back.

Having just recently fractured my fibula while on vacation, I am using the services of Dr. Robin R Innella of Associated Orthopedics. They have offices in Union and Bayonne.
http://associatedorthopaedics.com/

I think my healing has been very routine, 7 weeks in a boot, no surgery, no need for crutches. But I have no complaints what so ever.

Been browsing this forum for years, but your post compelled me to actually register.

I work at a local hospital, and I have to vehemently disagree with the previous poster - if I were you I'd avoid Gotham Ortho at all costs. While friendly, their doctors aren't very good, and their entire group has a terrible reputation in the operating room at my hospital. Truth be told, they're a group of young, relatively inexperienced orthopedic surgeons that aren't quite sure of themselves just yet who take an obscenely long time for routine operating room procedures.

As someone who has worked with quite a number of orthopedists in Hudson County, there's only two that I would recommend (the only two who I would trust with my own well-being) - Dr. Jeffrey Augustin and Dr. Juluru Rao - both have offices in Bayonne. These two are both amazing surgeons with a ton of experience between the two of them. Too bad they don't get along.

Hope this helped.

Yes, if you have a foot problem Dr. Del Monte is the best around the area.

For sports related injuries, try Gotham Orthopedics in Pavonia - top notch. Bonus: the office is a a trip with all the Gotham City artwork.

Could win a Wayne Knight lookalike contest. Great doctor. He's in the Old Beehive building.
