Yes it is Kennedy (Hudson County) Boulevard but it is in Bayonne in front of Marist HS going towards JC. Looks like the person took the TP Extension and got off in Bayonne. Those grass dividers with lights used to be in many places along the Blvd.

.

100% going north away from Bayonne. But they did start in Bayonne, getting off the Turnpike as you said. But Gem Electronics was right after the Boulevard Pool, and you can see the buses turning into the lot. As they travel further, you can see the library near Stevens Ave and Greenville Hospital.

This is cool. Thanks for sharing. Does anyone know what that first divided roadway is starting around the 5;30 min mark?

Slightly disjointed, but lots of memories for those who were there back then:

It's about twenty-three minutes, so grab a cup of coffee and enjoy.

There was angle parking on Christopher Columbus near Monmouth and Coles and Jersey. (18:08 - 18:38.)

Or was it still Railroad Avenue? When did that elevated railroad come down?

"Check the shot of the storefront next to Basic on Erie at 17:09. Also the section just before with a guy in red jacket seems to be 237/239/241 Eighth Street."

Robin, you have a good eye ... thanks neighbor!

Fascination. Starting at about 13:20 or so you can see the 12th and 14th St. viaducts going over a railyard that isn't railyard anymore. At 13:37 an empty field where Enos Jones park is. Some jokers hopping a freight at 14:20. And then we're in a car on the thruway going past Dickinson.

Clever bit of film-making.

Saradove - I know you are on 8th and Erie like me.

Check the shot of the storefront next to Basic on Erie at 17:09. Also the section just before with a guy in red jacket seems to be 237/239/241 Eighth Street.

Robin.

Great video of 1968 JC! Loved the old buses. Chuckled when the unleashed dog walked by ... uh oh, let's not start trouble here! Loved the music, too. Journal Square to Purple Haze.

glad this is up on vimeo - by architect and urban designer, Carmi Bee (Fellow of the American Institute of Architects). part of the Jersey City Master Plan project he worked on as graduate student under the direction of architect Michael Graves at Princeton University.

he joined us in JC for a presentation back in 2009.

Interesting video?s of JC on JCList (user1111?s JC is a great place and the Stanley threads) today so I will add this one. I did a search and don?t think it was ever posted before. The video is 25 minutes it takes them a while to actually get off the TP and get into JC but stick with it and enjoy the cool music. For you DT peeps they hit DT around the 16 minute mark.

I guess somethings never change. Unruly teenagers doing dangerous things, dogs off the leash, and trash, trash, trash!!

One thing I did notice there were no young women walking the streets throughout the entire video mostly middle aged plump women. Thanks for posting, nice clip and music was pretty cool too,
