I don't think I would like to live near a place where cell phone microwave radiation is so concentrated.

Would anyone have a problem with this if they lived on the top floor of the building and your bedroom was right under one of the antennas?

The top of that building is already visible from quite a ways away and ugly to boot. I don't see how adding a cell tower really harms things; at least it's putting the ugliness to work.

As a renter on 5th, certainly within 200FT, I have not gotten this letter. Perhaps my landlord has, but I doubt they would share.

Could you post all of the information you received about the meeting so that others like me can attend? Where will it be held?

Your first post makes it sound like the antennas are to be mounted at 72ft, not be 72ft tall as in your second post. I imagine 72ft is the height of that building and they will be on the roof or atop a bulkhead up there.

Either way, us neighbors should attend to see what they are proposing, and if it is indeed imposing, to have our opposition heard.

I live on 6th street as well. The building in question
is a rental building, so I assume the owner is
getting a nice fee to allow the towers and the
residents don't have a say.

I can see about a quarter of the building from
6th street over the Embankment. If they add
"three sectors of four 72 foot antennas" on
top, it will definitely be a eye sore.

I don't know about anyone else but I think this is crap.

well it is one of the tallest buildings on the block, so it won't be much of an issue aside from the people who live on the building on 5th and erie and people on other blocks.

I didn't receive the letter as I live on Sixth Street ~ but I'm surprised that Dan Wriedan would permit such a thing in the historic area. Our roof mounted central air conditioning unit had to placed well out of eyesight ~ and if you're rear windows are visible from the front of your home, you're required to put in "historic" windows.

I don't want to look at a tall tower on someone's rooftop, for sure.

I just received a certified letter, informing
me that a hearing will be held
on March 21 at 6:00 to discuss
an application to build a wireless
tower on the roof of 238 5th Street.

They are seeking the following relief:
minor site plan approval and use and
bulk variances to construct a wireless
communications facility consisting
of (3) sectors of four antennas each
mounted at a height of 72 feet and
an unmanned equipment platform
located on the rooftop of the
existing building with sq footage
of aprox 302 sq ft when 250 ft is permitted.

They sent this letter to me because
I own property within 200 feet of the building.

Did anyone else get this letter? Is anyone else concerned?
