MMMM I love Choc o Pain. I can't get to Paris anytime soon, it's so nice to have this proximity in JC.

Smells like buttery deliciousness every time you walk in.

A friend of mine who lives in the Heights was telling me that their new place at Palissade is the final one vs their Summit location. Still need to double check the info.

I heard from a realtor that Choc O Pain was going to open on Palisade Ave in the Heights. Is that true? Cool for the avenue. I wonder if they can make it in that location.

The third Choc O Pain owned by Clemence Danko in Hudson County, has opened in Jersey City at 942 Summit Ave., in the 942 Co-op Space.

"We are excited to be joining the 942 Co-op space with Bloomsbury Sq., an all-natural skin care company," Danko said. "These days' more and more companies are finding synergy by coming together in a space to offer their products/services and we believe this collaborative co-op will offer something unique to the people in this neighborhood."

Walked past there late this afternoon and it seemed that their window was busted. All the glass was removed and 3 carpenters were busy working on the frame. Tools and sawdust were everywhere. Dang, and I wanted a loaf of that 5-grain bread...

Groupon offer is pretty tempting...

I hope they don't go out of business... Invariably, every food business I have seen participate in Groupon promotions has eventually gone out of business, usually within a year, but often sooner.

Worth going there just to interact with the old Asian lady who works the counter, she is as absolute peach.

And the deadliest choc-au-pain aux amandes as well... This is so much a tribute to Clemence professionalism and dedication, wishing her the best for new highs, I mean Heights, here in JC

Yes - don't go in it. I got the same message when I thought about buying the Groupon to check what else they had besides croissant.

I was going to the Choc O Pain website and I received a warning from my browser that their home page is an attack site.

Did their site get hacked?

In a word excellent ! I had the almond croissant, I tried a couple of other items but the almond seems to be a favorite. I even had one of their breads very tasty, made in the traditional european form. It was a relaxing atmosphere so much to choose from and priced reasonably at least better then the prior bussiness.

How does the price of pains au chocolat relate to vacant store fronts? Has the Big Mac Index been replaced by the PACI?

And why does the price have to be related to the minimum wage? I guess if you are only making minimum wage this is not the store for you.

The croissants are around $2.50, the chocolate almond croissants are $3.50 (you bet the richness you get there), the chocolate croissants are in between. It is reasonable for the quality, plenty of people from all origins seem to be responding to that... Clemence is good to the City.

I not sure where you got 3.90 from. A plain croissant there is something like 2.75, which is comparable to places like Starbucks, and is worlds and worlds away.

They had exceptional raspberry tarts today, that really made it for the lack of chocolate almonds croissants in the afternoon - I am sure the later are being resold on e-bay.
