The only place to get Rodizio is the Brasilia Grill in Newark. Eat at the bar, it's cheaper. Plus you get to flirt with the Brazilian bartenders.

DO NOT eat at Churrasquiera Europa. That place is disgusting. They have a lunch buffet and there wasn't a thing on it that was appealing. I had a bowl of watered down cabbage soup that was clearly made up of days-old leftovers. Nasty... take the effort to walk a little further afield.

Yep still there went there today, picked up a plate of eggplant parm. Their hot foods are terrific. The guys there don't say much but the food does most of the talking for itself.

You have got to be kidding, right? Baked ziti with the pasta the consistency of oatmeal, canned sauce, meatballs heavy on the breadcrumbs & nasty asses behind the counter. I won't be returning there anytime soon. They are about as overrated as Monteleone's.

if you're willing to walk a few extra blocks, there are a ton of good indian places west of the courthouse.

Yes, Moloney's will make you a great sandwich, as long as you're just looking for meat and cheese. They don't have a lot of fixings, but the deli meats they carry are good.

Yes you can get a different hot sandwich each day. Every other Wednesday they have hot cornedbeef sandwiches.

I agree that John's is a solid option. So is Larry and Joe's. Doesn't Churrasquiera Europa serve lunch? All three are on Newark between Baldwin and Chestnut.

There is pizza, Chinese, and couple of Pilipino places in the area and of course the old stand by Mickey D?s across from the old court house. If you feel like exploring walk down Summit for Burger King and Dunkin Donuts. Some more Pilipino places over by Five Corners. For a real adventure walk all the way down Newark Ave to the little India section. Maybe stop in Casa Dante or Montelone?s Bakery on the way. Don?t like Indian food while in that section of town there is a nice shiny White Castle on the corner of Newark and the Blvd. You can pick up a sack of ?murder? burgers.(no jury duty pun intended)

The Court house used to have a little place downstairs don't recall if it is still there.

You could have had some nice Polish food but you downtowners stole Sava Polish away from us! They used to be by the court house.

They'll have menus at the courthouse. This is because they're paying for it.

This is not a place I would try based on looks, but John's, one block down the street at 553 Newark Ave (just past Baldwin), makes a pretty mean sandwich. Especially if it involves cheese and their grill.

Last time I was there I had a salad which was ok. Convenience to the courts a big plus.

I was just there a month ago. My condolences. Why don't you bring a sandwich or something? But I guess that's not why you posted... If you don't mind walking 3 blocks or so on Newark towards JFK, there is a Max's of Manila. I thought the chicken was pretty good.

I have jury duty tomorrow, any lunch recommendations as I don't get to that part of town very often.
