I ended up going to Esquire of Wall St. Just a quick ride via the PATH and not too expensive. They take walk-ins as well. Just ask for a guy to do the shave, I think they have a better idea of how to treat a beard.

Im looking for a good, old-fashion barbershop that does a hot shave the right way. Anyone know of any by grove st area? If open on sunday, even better, but i guess that would not make them old-fashioned!

Joe the barber is good at his craft like an old world artist you'll walk out of there clean shaven or however you like your whiskers to be. Being at Joe's is like being in the neighborhood. Get there early though. It's on the corner of Griffith St. across from #25 school up in the Heights.

My beard has gotten a bit out of control over the past couple months and my razor trembles at its sight. Anyone know a good place to get a shave, preferably Downtown or Journal Square?
