It was a test of the Hudson County Emergency Alert system. First a voice message, then some alert tones, then the voice message again.

I was right underneath one of the tower loudspeakers when it went off. (Near Harborside Financial Center.) It DID sound like the teacher from Charlie Brown. I couldn't make out anything except the part where I heard the word "test."

It was LOUD. Of course, no one was even paying attention.

Sounded a lot like one of those "Test of the emergency broadcast system" announcements that used to take over the TV.

Yea i was wondering if that high pitched squeal was related, but didn't want to jump the gun (heard a chopper right after that, too). Goddamn that's a good half mile away.

It sounded like someone was trying to get on the 1996 version of AOL but I couldn't make out what the announcement was.

City Hall. Something about a test. And there was a high pitch sound right after.

i think its coming from the PATH. im a block from there and cant even make out what it saying.

I'm on 5th St. and it sounded like it was coming from at least 5 blocks away, and was loud as hell, but all I heard was an adult from Charlie Brown talking.
