BTW,

While you're on Terhune Ave, take a look at that bike lane.

Opinions?

Ate there for years, but the price they charge for home style Italian went too high.
We don't eat there anymore. They've outgrown the neighborhood that supported them.

When Laico?s Restaurant Jersey City opened in 1972, it was a brick-oven pizzeria and bar for the neighborhood locals. The Laico family eventually expanded the menu to include an extensive menu filled with home-made Italian specialties. Mixing both modern and traditional dishes on the menu, the award-winning restaurant has been run by three generations of the Laico family for over 40 years. Lou Laico and his sons Adam and Gregory are presently at the helm.

My family has been eating there for decades! It's a wonderful, homey, uncomplicated dinner where we always know our waiter by name and they always ask how my grandparents are doing. I couldn't recommend it more.

Laico's is one of my go-to spots when I have out-of-town guests. Everyone is always happy with the old school charm. Large portions and reasonable prices. Not gourmet by any standards, but fine stuff. They make a good martini too.

Laico's is a great place. My wife introduced me to it years ago and we've been going occasionally ever since. Try the pork medallions with cherry peppers.

One hint - Make sure you get extremely detailed directions for getting there. It's like Brigadoon, it appears out of the mist and then it's gone again.

The street it's on (Terhune) is one-way and does not extend all the way between JFK and West Side. You need to ask for directions or look closely at the map or nav system. Don't try driving around trying to find it.

Also, it's camouflaged among houses on a residential street.

I give this place 5 stars, food is great. Its ol school , large portions. Only negative sometimes you have to wait like 25 minutes. It gets busy. As someone mentioned above Just Sonny's is also very good. Have fun!

Alway's enjoy Laico's. They even have a very small parking lot or you might have to park on the street. The area around it is ok. Hard place to find mixed in a residential block but worth going to.

I've been eating at Laico's since 1993 - always good.
You should also try "Just Sonny's" at 169 Sterling Avenue.

I went there years ago. It is a nice place. Small but nice. The area is not bad at all.

Tell us how it is now.

Enjoy.

Wanted to check this place out Laico's restaurant
67 Terhune Avenue has any one been? Most of the Yelp reviews are great, but thought I ask here. Thanks in advance.
