Steven's on Newark Ave used to have it, and I've bought it there a few times. Haven't been there in a while though.

In a pinch (and very convenient), Tender Shoot on Newark Ave keeps a decent stock of Asian products.

IF you work in New York you will not be able to beat Han Ah Reum at 25 East 32nd...a half blockl from PATH on the North side of the street. It is centered in Little Korea but will be able to provide any Japanaese essentials you need, and lots more. It has never disappointed me.

It will also let you shop without the car.

Thanks, everyone! I needed nori to make California rolls for a work potluck...so I needed to find someplace nearby and convenient. A&P!

You guys are the best!

Edgewater's Mitsuwa is great, and is my mom's Japanese shop of choice, even though she lives in central NJ. When I was little, I looked forward to the "long drive" and then eating yummy unagi-don in the food court.

SR has nori and other japanese items. I was actually surprised how much they had. It's expensive there though

Seconding MW. They have a pretty good selection and it's not too overpriced.

The selection and quality @ A&P is terrible.

The gourmet grocery @ Liberty Towers sells a few basic items, about the same as A&P.

If you can go by car I suggest heading to Edgewater (Mitsuwa). That place is like no other, it's amazing.

Agreed with MikeyTBC on A&P having Japanese cuisine base ingredients. Their selection is somewhat limited, but you should be able to find all of the basic items. The Asian section of the International Food items is where you should find the stuff.

I've seen nori at A&P. It's either in the asian isle or on an end cap near the back of the store towards the frozen foods.

Where can I get nori (and other Japanese ingredients) in downtown JC? Does anyone know if either Nha Trang grocery or the Korean marts on Newark have it?
