I have a friend who needs to relocate her costume business, and I was talking up JC instead of Brooklyn. But I can't seem to find space listings for ~1000 ft. Not on Craigslist or googling. Any hints, or even ideas about what that space would cost around town? JS would be fine for her. Does the Lackawanna have subdivided art spaces?

Are any studios ever available for an hourly rental? I just need some space, natural light and a white wall for a photo session.

The Mana Contemporary Art Center is JC's finest (only?) full service arts facility. It's at 888 Newark Ave, just off 1/9 and Tonnelle Avenue and about a 10 minute walk from the Journal Square PATH station.

As of December of 2011, we are developing another 15,000 square feet of artist studio space. Available spaces range from 1,000 to 10,000 square feet. Amenities include:
- High ceilings.
- Large windows with great light.
- 24/7 access.
- We customize to your specs.

Amenities at the Mana facility include:
- Viewing rooms and exhibition space.
- Crate and frame shop.
- Fine art storage.
- Transportation and shipping services.
- Cafe.
- State of the art security.
- Huge loading dock and freight elevator.
- Free parking.
- An interesting and friendly community of painters, sculptors, photographers, dance companies, foundations, and art professionals.

We're certainly not the cheapest space out there but we are the best. And since you lease directly from Mana, there is NO REALTOR FEE. Sorry, no live/work.

If anyone is interested and wants more information, please contact me at 646-246-2119 or dneidhart@manafinearts.com

I'm currently looking for a space in downtown JC to use exclusively as an art studio (not a live/work space). Would be willing to consider Journal Square or the heights if the size and price was good enough.

Does anyone know if JC has any studio buildings? I used to rent one in Long Island City...a whole block of converted warehouses with studios ranging from 200-600sq. Dont need a fancy, renovated loft and that's all I'm finding in my searches.

I need the space for painting, mosaic and collage work...nothing too loud or toxic. Would prefer a sink in the space, but is not crucial. Also hoping to rent a space where I can meet a few other artists as I am new to the area.

Obviously...the cheaper the better :)

Any info on where to look would be appreciated.
