on the topic of illegal but fun trespassing, if someone knows how one could enter the powerhouse relatively inconspicuously, that would be cool too.

Look how much the High Line in NYC has done for the neighborhood. It took years as well but everyone seems to love The High Line. Lovely pictures by the way

It's gonna make a great park someday. Building on them would be the lowest, stupidest idea ever. More high-rises=more people=grease yourself up to get on the PATH trains in the morning. We have enough housing and enough people. Time for some more Green Space.

Tim Herrick's blog just posted a bunch of pictures from the Marin section a couple days ago. Pretty funny.

http://timothyherrick.blogspot.com/20 ... nkment-embarkment_19.html

"Oh glorious vista. Oh blessed and holy Jersey City. Good people down below, heed my words! I come from on high to declare the glory of the world and the embankment above. I?ll never be the same again after seeing such views, such wide horizons. The infinity of possibilities spreading out far and wide, the fear of insignificance that must be overcome in order to behold such grandeur. Oh Heavens! Oh Earth. Oh Peaks and Valleys! Humble in my Humanity I beseech thee, hear my cry!"

That's Peggy Noonan quality stuff right there.

Why scale it when you can walk right up near Marin?

And doesn't most of the rest of it have a chain link fence around it? Scaling the wall would be easy, but then you have to deal with the hassle of getting over the fence.

- Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Yes, I know it's trespassing and therefore illegal, but has anyone actually climbed up on one of those things?

Or do you perhaps have a second hand account of someone getting up there?

If so, could you please describe the experience and perhaps specify which block you chose to summit.

Thanks JC List.
