Oddfellows had excellent burgers and good cornbread and gumbo. I miss it.

yeah i think it's the cost that drove them out of business in jc, you dont goto oddfellow for their sandwich, you go there for their specialty crawfish dishes which were all around $20 after tip, compared to avg $10 lunch around jc.

But it's very good food! i remember going there once a week alone to enjoy a nice quiet lunch, just to get away from all the office chaos for a while... It was a special place!

This was in the current O'Connell's building, right? I think I had a few beers there once.

Long gone from JC, but there's one in Hoboken right by the PATH station.

thanks, that's exactly it! oddfellows!

it's a shame the good ones keep leaving, but the crap like nankin and grand banks which are nothing more than dressed up chinese fastfood remains in here.

Ah ha! I wasn't yet here when Oddfellow's was in Jersey City. By the way, the namesake is an amazing cemetery. Bon appetit!

It closed more than a year ago, they specialize in crawfish entrees, the crawfish meat over rice was soooo good. It was located on montgomery around grand banks & baja.

i remember someone telling me they are a chain, wanted to know the name so i can look it up their other locations, thanks.
