The street is open, half is freshly paved....and, lo and behold, they replaced the trees!

LoraJ:

On my way home I spoke to the young engineer on duty. She advise me that they have two days of work left and one day for clean up.

Hopefully ,it will all end by the end of the business day on Thursday. Parking is getting a bit hairy around here.

Hope it helps !!

DTG

PS ?Let?s see if day replace the two trees that they killed in front of the Lincoln Apartments.

I am really worried now that I am working evening shift that I won't be able to find parking when I get home at late hours. Many cars from 10th are parking on my street now making it difficult to find parking at normal hours. I fear about how far away I am going to have to park.

Is the Erie garage still taking monthly rentals?

Not sure about Erie, but Newport mall garage has monthly rates. I hope they finish that construction soon. I live around the corner and the noise is deafening. I have to close my windows to talk on the phone. I can't imagine what it must be like for the people that live right on that street.

From what I can see this roadwork is going to be ongoing for a LONG time. I can see at least a dozen pieces of large diameter cement pipe stretching halfway down the street. Looks like they will be digging up the entire street.

They delivered some heavy equipment to the 10th St. site around 7am today. Maybe work will start today.

It would be nice, if they left room for local traffic coming from Erie Street, instead of blocking the street with an unoccupied van and traffic cones.

During rush hour, traffic on Erie Street is blocked by 10th Street residents attempting to manuever their cars around cones and a parked municipal van blocking the only entrance to 10th street between Manila and Erie.
