Can anyone recommend a lawyer that can also speak Spanish? Its not for me but for my aunt. She speaks English but is nervous that many of the technical terms will get her confused and can lead to her being taken advantage of.

I use Jeremy or Joe Scanlon from Gess, Gess & Scanlon for all of my deals and I typically recommend them to my clients.

IMO not necessarily; real estate is mostly governed by state law. I would use locals for other parts of the transaction, especially home inspection.

Hi All,
Do any of you know of any reputable lawyers helping clients with condo purchases? Ones that will really "read" the contract and explain to you if it is unfair? I don't trust my realtor's suggestions (he is also the seller's agent) so I am asking the community for advice. I am also looking for an inspector. Any advice? This purchase will be in Jersey City and it is a condo.

Anyone out here know a good lawyer for purchasing a co op in Manhattan. A friend of mine is purchasing a coop in Mid town East and bit lost as to where to start. I know this is a Jersey city forum but I am hoping that there someone here just might know one, given how close we are to Manhattan.
