What is a fair rate per hour for an independent house cleaner?

I have someone who lives in JC and does an excellent job cleaning. She cleans my house better than I would do it myself. Her name is Kati and her contact info is k.biro@hotmail.com or 917-207-5588. She speaks english, I trust her completely and she has references.

Spotless Planet has gone way downhill under the new owner. I had to fire them tonight. They were repeatedly told not to touch certain fragile items and today they broke one of them to the tune of $300. And they had previously damaged a countertop due to careless use of oven cleaner. Not recommended at all anymore.

I used 5 STAR CLEANING last week after reaching out to several contacts posted on this thread. They did an excellent job, especialy "deep clean" on a bathroom that i inherited with a conciderable amount of dirt and mold. highly recomended, will be suing them again. Thanks to Jeff and his wife for the great service.

Did not hear back from anyone else, including spotless planet. oh well.

I get an email from Piedad at Spotless a few days before each cleaning to confirm the date. That's a nice touch. The house smells so nice when I come in.

We use Spotless Planet and they don't have a problem with our dog & cat, although I usually take the dog to Boca's Play n Stay so he doesn't get in their way. Judy used to own Spotless Planet, but last year transferred the business to Piedad - one of her long-time employees. Overall, they do a pretty good job and the price is reasonable.

We used Regina's Maids and cut them after the first visit. Low quality and high prices in our experience.

The best house cleaner I've ever had was Sharon from Freaky Clean, but she and her business partner split and I lost her number. Sharon, if you're out there and still cleaning in Jersey City, track me down! Freaky Clean wasn't just a brand - it's how my house looked when she was done! :)

Does anyone know of a pet-friendly cleaning service in the area? My housekeeper, who was pet-friendly, is having surgery and won't be able to clean for a while. Any suggestions are appreciated (except telling me to clean my own house). :)

Based on the recommendations here, I called several services. The only one that showed up to give me an estimate was Spotlessplanet. The cleaning was thorough and the house smelled wonderful. Time will tell if they remain this good, but I was very happy with their work.

I've hired Regina Maids three times to do housecleaning - they do work slowly and they are not thorough at all. I have found that the women who work independently do a much better job.

Regina's maids came here once when our usual cleaning service wasn't available. Not only do they work VERY slowly, they also use very toxic cleaning products, even after I asked them to use what I had. They work slow to over charge - so watch them.

Just make sure you people tell your maids that they CANNOT put their/your trash into public garbage cans. Have them put it in YOUR trashcans or take it away with them.

That sounds very high. My apartment is a good sized 2 bedroom and we pay 80 (that was also in line with some of the other cleaning services I looked at). Unless, you specified a very detailed cleaning, I'd look elsewhere.

Hey,

I'm using Regina Maids right now, and they're saying it costs $53 dollars an hour for two girls. I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment, the girls get here and claim they need another 2 hours. that'll be over $200 dollars to clean my whole place! Seems very different from what I'm reading on this blog, am I getting royally ripped off or is this what these things cost?

I found a cleaner I like, her name is Irma.

irmacleaningservice@gmail.com

She comes with her daughter to our house twice a month and does a great job. She charges us $80 per regular cleaning and it takes them both about 2 hours.

She is courteous, speaks good english and responds quickly.

Good luck !

I thought there was a thread on this already, but couldn't find it with a few searches.

I'm looking for a reliable and thorough cleaning service that is willing to do 1BR apt that needs a good cleaning. "Clutter" isn't an issue, but the apt hasn't been cleaned since subletter left mid-Nov.

Any suggestions? Price is a variable, but willing to spend a good bit for a job well done.

Thanks in advance.

Hi. My wife Bertha, has an independent cleaning service--

5 STAR CLEANING

She has been doing this for over two years now, and has incredible references in downtown Jersey City. She said her price for a 2 bedroom/1 bath apt, that is already fairly clean, is $70.00. She usually cleans most apartments twice a month.

She doesn't have email, but I do, so you can always make any apointments with me @ jgould@wiley.com, or you may call her directly at 551-655-8750.

She just needs to know if you have your own cleaning supplies, or does she need to bring them.

Please feel free to contact us, should you have any further questions.

Take Care.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a house keeper? If you can you either post/PM me their contact information and rate?

I want someone with a good attention to detail, reasonable english skills and who can set up appointments via email.

I've gotten quotes from companies and they all want to charge around 100 dollars to clean our 930 square foot 2 bedroom/1 bath apartment which I think is too high. We normally keep the apartment fairly clean, and are just looking for someone to do maintence cleaning twice a month.

I designed their web site and then used them for cleaning several times throughout the year. Really great, attention to detail and they use green products. Ask for Judy, she is the owner and will come to your place for a free consultation.

I am looking for someone to clean my 1BR 1BA. If you have a great, efficient cleaning person, please let me know. I want to get a few estimates. I prefer independents, not from a cleaning service where they send different people every time.

Some of the phone numbers listed here are not current, so if you have someone you really like, please list them or PM me.
Thanks.

After having our first child. We need some help around the house with cleaning. We have a 2 BR Rowhouse that needs some sprucing up. This would like be a one off until we can get on our feet then we'll consider looking into regular visits. We do have a dog so the cleaner will need to be dog friendly.

Qualities we are looking for:
*Trustworthy
*Attention to detail
*Reliable
*Economical
*Dog Friendly

The last thread we saw on this was pretty old so we're looking for some new good recommendations. We're open to both companies such as reginas maids as well as private housekeepers. Please let us know your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

My name is Mary and I clean at The Beacon--I have references am thorough and reliable. My number is 201-417-1748. I also do specialty dog sitting--I am not a dog walker, but will walk your dogs and keep them at my home part time while you are gone for a period of time. Much cheaper and better than a kennel.
