Jersey City council members told in June of investigation into leaked voicemail

JERSEY CITY — A city attorney told City Council members last year that there was an external investigation into a recording that was at the center of contract-steering allegations during the 2017 mayoral race, sources with knowledge of the matter told The Jersey Journal.

Council members were briefed about the investigation during a closed-door meeting in June, the sources said. The council met for the closed caucus on June 11 to discuss the city’s contract with law firm Arleo & Donohue, a firm the city hired in 2014 for a Port Authority-related matter.

Wonder how much this firm donated to Fulop's many fundraisers?

Also would "Daniel Rivera" bend over and rub Crisco on his nether regions if Steven asked?

Jersey City council votes down law contract sought by Fulop

The City Council Wednesday night defeated a measure reauthorizing a contract with a law firm the city says handles "special or complex" public-records requests.

The action was the first time in recent memory the council has voted down a contract sought by Mayor Steve Fulop, who has six allies on the nine-member council. The defeated measure would have approved another $20,000 for a previously authorized contract with West Orange law firm Arleo & Donohue.

we'll see.

and yes, I agree, but unfortunately that would secure you very limited support.

DanL, I think you're probably 100% incorrect on that. Since the law firm's bills have been produced, that's as transparent as the city needs to be. The "criticism" lead by a very small group of or one former Healy minion(s), is merely a desperate effort of making a tempist in a teapot.

If I were running for Mayor, I would focus more on my history of advancing valuable initiatives for the benefit of the City, my skills that will enable me to do that and my strategy to continue doing that INSTEAD of squawking about non-existent drama.

more likely than not, has something to do with our mayor abruptly dropping out of the 2017 race for NJ governor.

JERSEY CITY -- Seven weeks after a verdict was reached in the federal Bridgegate case, Jersey City is still being represented by an outside attorney the city said was hired in part to handle "information requests" related to the closely watched trial.

The city's hiring of West Orange firm Arleo & Donohue has become a flash point for Mayor Steve Fulop's critics, who say they believe the administration is not being completely forthcoming about the work the firm is doing.
