Just for future reference - alas, this shuttle is only for EVA Air:

If you give yourself enough time, here's another relatively seamless method, if you're not concerned about the traffic.

Take the PATH to 33rd, then walk toward Penn Station, and stop at Sbarro's. The NYC Airporter has regularly scheduled buses to JFK from there (make sure you get on the JFK and not the LGA bus). You can buy your ticket ahead of time online, print it out and show the driver, or just pay cash to the driver.

Check out their website for the schedule:

I've generally been happy with their service, as long as time allowed for it and you can buy a roundtrip ticket to take the service when you come back.

NYC airporter is trash though. And I honestly believe LIRR is faster to JFK once in Manhattan.

PATH to 33rd, walk to Penn Station, LIRR to Jamaica, JFK AirTrain. :(

Hands down the best solution available. Seriously, don't even bother looking for alternatives. It is 75-90 minutes from DTJC to JFK. I have done it multiple times, without issues. During weekends it is cheaper, as you can take advantage of the LIRR CityTicket option, which means you pay ~4.00 for the LIRR, plus PATH, plus AirTrain. About $12 in total. I have done it before in 75 minutes, but it depends on connections and a bit of luck. Worst case scenario, barring any crazy, unexpected problems, it will take you 90 minutes.

Yes, best route during normal business hours, not that swell during off hours.

I avoid flying out of JFK like the plague too... however I will accept flying back to JFK sometimes if $$-wise better. The A-train connection has been the best in my experience, I have done ubering/lyftying when I hit brooklyn but it has not been a substantial improvement. EWR by all means is so much more convenient.

I've made better time doing PATH > WTC > A train > AirTran.

but that's the route the original poster is trying to avoid.

You could also take an uber to Secaucus and take NJ Transit and LIRR to Jamaica and connect to the airtrain. It is usually pretty fast during the peak hours.

I literally projected my drink and LoLed. Thinking you meant taking a flight from Newark to JFK. But then realizing you meant flying out of Newark instead. hahaha

I've often tried to figure out this puzzle with no success.

PATH to 33rd, walk to Penn Station, LIRR to Jamaica, JFK AirTrain. :(

There's no better way to do it. The region infrastructure is horrendous. I wish the Port Authority would connect all their mega hubs by PATH train. Imagine Newark Airport, Journal Square, WTC, PABT, Laguardia, and JFK all being accessible by PATH train. So much more efficient, but an unrealistic dream, not because it isn't possible. Just because of incompetence and lack of vision.

Other than taking the path to the a train from world trade out to JFK and or taking an Uber which I just don?t want to spend the money on what are my other options? Has anyone ever taken the path the world trade and then a SuperShuttle from say the millennium Hilton? I don?t mind spending 20 bucks and it taking an hour and a half, I just don?t want to have to take the path to the subway and then change to the skytrain. Are there any SuperShuttle type shuttles from Jersey City? I know are used to be the case where they would only drop off at hotels here and not pick up from them. Anyone know if there?s any shuttles out of Journal Square? I?ve seen the airporter shuttle there but I?ve never ever seen it pick people up and I can?t seem to find anything online about either SuperShuttle or the airporter online. Thanks in advance.
