Doughnut Plant donuts, which they carry, generally retail for around $4 so that sounds about right. Definitely not for everybody, but the quality is worth it IMO - especially for an occasional treat.

Its expensive in my opinion $12 for two coffees one small, one large and two donuts. Also no light roast which is a bummer. I will continue to support it but not daily.

I'll pass.. but Happy National Glazed Donut Day! Enjoy

I interviewed the owners of Grind Shop Coffee for ChicpeaJC.com, they're pretty awesome. Find out more about them here:

I think the closest independent would be Brewshot at the Regent building, and they charge $4 and $4.50 for a cappuccino and a latte; both are $3.50 at Grind if that helps.

Was in there yesterday - a Cappuccino was $2.95. Small drip coffee is $2, a large is $2.50.

Does anyone know specifics of how their price points compare to those of other independent coffee shops in the area (obv not B-L but elsewhere)?

Yes they take cards.

Just got a almond milk latte- it was fantastic.

I really like that add ons are reasonable: e.g. only 50 cents for an extra shot.

The place was full of people. Great wifi too.

Go and help them pay off the mortage on that gleaming expresso maker.

I stopped by the 'family and friends' soft opening at the Grind Shop, located just west of Pacific Avenue on Communipaw. Great coffee (La Colombe), smart looking-what a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. I'm told they'll be open 7 to 7, and open for good on Monday.
