I usually get the same one in black for my rentals: $200. A good counter model like a Panasonic can be had for $100.

Anyone know of a good company/person who can help diagnose why a microwave no longer works ?

From personal experience, I would suggest to really consider your options. A diagnosis and fix may be more expensive than a replacement unit. A few years ago, a high end microwave oven in my apartment went bad (just stopped working) and the tech that came out had NO CLUE what to do with it (he was employed by an "Kitchen Aid authorized repair company") and had to spend two hours on the phone being talked through a diagnosis and troubleshooting session for which my landlord ended up paying a good amount of money and which called for multiple expensive replacement parts. In the end, it was "cheaper" and better to just buy a new unit.

I agree, when I was renovating my kitchen I needed a temporary microwave, I bought one at Target for $60.00.

This is probably cheaper than servicing your old microwave.
