Really? Officials in our own state government colluded with the PA and the PAPD to put far more cones for a lot longer across the GWB than these two bozos.
None of those responsible have seen a day in jail.
I am interested in these far flung places though.

As evil as the Fort Lee/GWB situation may have been, none of those who orchestrated that debacle were looking to rob anyone in the middle of the night, they just snarled traffic. As the OP indicated, this guy was reaching for his pocket and was about as suspicious as they come. I would be terrified in that situation. "Bridgegate" was just one big inconvenience for a lot of people.

What a surprise. We hosted Mr. Walston in our local prison until this past January. If he had been forced to serve his maximum sentence, he wouldn't have been available to commit this crime. As it looks, he didn't even do his mandatory minimum.

1 count of :
2C:5-118X*3 Criminal Attempt,Burglary /3
Max Term: 4 Years

1 count of :
2C:35-7*3 CDS/Distribute Drugs On School Proprty/3
Mandatory Minimum: 3 Years
Max Term: 5 Years

INCARCERATION HISTORY
Date In Custody: March 3, 2011
Date Out of Custody: January 20, 2014

Just like most of the shitbirds we read about on this site, turns out one of these oxygen thieves?made the news for breaking into a church to get high back in 2010.

A church on beautiful Ocean Avenue, no less. He was, of course, released without charge by the JCPD (sigh)

FAB, I was initially skeptical, too. But cops arrested two suspects:

(From ABCNews link from Falcon)

"You read about the stuff on the internet, people impersonating police, could have been a hijacking, could have been a robbery," Tukhtin said.

He wasn't the only person who called. After a second 911 call, New Jersey State Police found the man and another, and arrested them both, one for DWI.

It still isn't clear what their intentions were, though Ivan Tukhtin thinks he does and is glad he had the presence of mind to get out of there when he did.

"I personally think it was a robbery because someone who needs help doesn't take these kinds of extreme measures. I'm just glad I wasn't hurt," Tukhtin said.

37-year-old Kareem Walston from Orange, New Jersey was arrested for DWI. 36-year-old Hashen Clark from Jersey City was arrested for hindering. Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident.

Maybe in some of the more far flung places in the world I have been, I would set my head to be prepared for something like this to occur, but in New Jersey? Wow, this is really a new low.

This just makes my blood run cold. Me in the car with my kids - what would I do? Awful stuff.

I withdraw the first part of my comment. The news had extended footage that shows its right by the tunnel. The police do never patrol that area.

A makeshift roadblock in the dead of night on a deserted highway. You pull over. A figure in a pair of jeans and a gold chain emerges from the gloom...

That is some extremely creepy, horror movie shit. They have one guy on DWI and the other on "interfering with an investigation" but clearly this was the premeditated pretense for a much more serious crime. A robbery at least, a carjacking maybe, or perhaps something even more sinister.

Innocent until proven guilty obviously, but I wonder what powers the police have to prosecute on the seemingly evident and thought out intent (they brought cones, people!) to commit a more serious crime...?

The whole matter is disturbing all round...

that is nowhere near any of the "14" exits.

Everything about this looks suspicious. If you see this keep the foot on the pedal and keep it at speedometer at 70.

For a while there was a spate of luxury cars being gently rear-ended on RT78, followed by the hit car being carjacked.

Oh, I couldn't tell. Let the Webmaster move it then.

The important part is for people to be aware of this, as this shady stuff occurred right here on a major highway.

Anyone else think this is a robbery/murder waiting to happen? Watch out, as this only occurred a couple days ago.
