Darn it, I missed the Defending Champions... and yes, I did show up. You know, sometimes it's useful to post more information than there will be "Vendors, Crafts, Kid Fun Stuff, Music, Food, Booze."

Never made it down there I am @ Golden Door International Film Festival; the buses that were provided makes getting here and down there real easy. :)

I guess nobody replied HERE because they were THERE..., absolutely packed! Great selection of food, music, dance..., and definitely more hipsterish than in fauxboken!

4th annual 'All About Downtown' street fair returning to Jersey City

By Steven Rodas | The Jersey Journal
August 08, 2014 at 12:19 PM

A street fair celebrating all-things Downtown Jersey City will be back for its fourth year on Sept. 20 with over 125 vendors, music from local artists and more than 15 food trucks from the area, as well as New York City.

The Historic Downtown Special Improvement District will hold the "All About Downtown Street Fair" on Newark Avenue between Grove Street and Jersey Avenue from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Fair-goers will have a chance to rifle through vintage threads from Another Mans Treasure and Vera Vixeness, satisfy their taste buds with organic homemade ice cream from Milk Sugar Love, and explore a variety of tea flavors from The Big Straw.

From canvas art to toys, the street fair will have numerous vendors fit for all age groups selling products, offering services and handing out discount coupons.

"This free event is for everyone, from families to young adults, even if you're from New York it's just ten minutes away," said Rachel Sieg, executive director of the Historic Downtown Special Improvement District.

"This year we doubled our promotion efforts and (foresee) a lot more people coming," Sieg added.

COVERAGE OF LAST YEAR'S FAIR

Activities at the fair will include arts and crafts, a bouncy house, hula hooping, and live music from local bands and DJs including popular ska band, The Defending Champions, and dance company, Nimbus Dance Works. IRIS Records will also be at the event spinning records, as well as selling them.

The diverse palate of vendors will make the fair a memorable day with the selling of custom license plates from Jersey City Plate Art, mouth-watering sandwiches from Phil's Cheesestakes, cooking lessons from Bambino Chef, handmade baby goods from Textile Trolley and natural hair oils from Lakshmi's Cupboard.

The fair was made possible by numerous sponsors, who will also be in attendance, including Union Republic, The Style Cruiser, Two Boots Pizza, Pole Position Raceway, Dark Side of the MOO, Uber Park and Sixth Comfort Food, Orale Mexican Kitchen, CoolHaus, IndrediBalls, Capitol One, Hard Grove and WORD Bookstore.
