Small window A/C units usually don't drip water now days. They hold it in a reservoir below the coils. The water evaporates, improving the efficiency.

It slows the water down and you shouldn't hear smacking sound anymore. But if the water is doing any kind of damage to your property, it's probably only a temporary fix. I believe they also sell some kind of foam at Home Depot designed for this purpose, that you can put on the concrete to absorb the water and eliminate the noise. But your best bet is to talk to your neighbors and see if they can do something about the unit.

I seen hoses/tubing attached to divert the water so it will drip somewhere else, but I'm not aware of a specific gadget for the purpose. Maybe try home depot? Are your neighbors willing to cooperate with you on this project?

We have a garden level bedroom and our neighbors upstairs use window units. Now that it is humid they drip water which smacks the concrete right next to the garden apartment window and is like water torture.
Any ideas on whether there are gadgets that can be hooked onto the window units to alleviate this? It doesn't matter what I put down on the garden level since the water is moving fast and makes a loud noise on concrete, plastic, etc. Curious if others have dealt with this one...
