Thanks all. I forgot to mention that I wass indeed looking for maa-transit routes, as I wouldn't have anyone to drop me off, and not looking to pay for the cab.
I appreciate all the help. I'll most likely just walk down to Hoboken Terminal and take NJ Transit train. Thanks again!

I can imagine traveling alone it would seem a bit much, but for a family of 4 the $25 cab is a no brainer! And usually about 15 minutes from Downtown in no traffic. Coming back we call them when we land, and they meet us, rather than paying twice as much to the thieves at the taxi stand.

King Taxi just sent around flyers saying:
Jersey City to Newark $25 ...to LaGuardia $49 ...to JFK $65 I tend to agree with some posters below regarding transportation to the airport. If you can, pay the $25, especially around the holidays when there is enough chaos to be aggravated by without adding commuting.

+1 Traveling is stressful enough without adding to it navigating PT with luggage. Get a friend to drop you off, or get a cab. The extra few bucks is well worth it imo.

If by "NJT" you mean the train that takes you to the airport, you can't catch it (directly) in Hoboken. Hoboken trains don't connect through Newark Penn Station (which is the line the airport trains take.) The only Newark stop Hoboken trains make is Broad Street. I think the only way you can get to EWR from Hoboken via train is if you switch in Secaucus. I agree with Heights - the PATH to the bus from Newark Penn Station is straightforward and you can't beat the price. Takes me less than an hour door to door.

For public transportation take the Newark PATH train ($2) from JSQ to Newark Penn Station go to the bus lanes then take the #62 bus to Newark Airport and you're there. The bus fare one way is $1.50 Total fares one way $3.50

what is a real shame is that i'd rather go to jfk than newark..somehow getting to jfk just seems more painless....but i do prefer ewr to laguardia

unless you are trying to save a nickel, why not take ligh rail to hoboken and then take njt. i find it is the right mix of time, costs, traffic

That would be awesome but I don't have much faith in Christie. I am not sure about The Heights but commuting to the airport from Greenville is a nightmare. It requires a lighrail ride to the Path to the bus. It sucks.

Take Kennedy Blvd. to St. Paul's ave to Tonnelle Ave. to Broadway cross Rt440 passing Wilson Carpet then make left and right take ramp up to the Pulaski Skyway stay in lane which eventually turns into Rt 1&9 follow signs for AIRPORT.

A cab, I find getting to the airport by PT here is really a mess. A cab gets me there in 25 min.

The way I have taken it is to head to J.sq, take the train to Penn in Newark then take one of those Go buses, bus # GO28
