Like Rollerblades/skates, and bikes, legally the rider belongs on the road, traveling with traffic.

I was test riding an expensive road bike last Saturday. As I rode on the right hand side going west on Bay St. then turned north onto Erie staying on the right some drug addict (who looked like JJ on the Good Times TV show) and on a bike himself was riding on Erie against traffic in the left hand lane. Then he turned onto Bay still in the left lane going against the flow of traffic. We almost collided. This guy was all over the place without a care in the world.

Why do we always try to reinvent something that is perfectly fine - This bike thing is another knuckle-head design - I like to keep it simple ... KISS philosophy!

As for solowheel, I can see them parked outside KFC, McD's and Burger Kings .. It will suit the obese !

There is no way you can be obese and ride a solowheel, they will have to stick to the scooter.

Yeh that's it.

Seemed to have a lot of control navigating the sidewalks and looked like fun

Was it one of these? http://solowheel.com/
Same gyrostabilization premise as a segway but with just one wheel. I worked with these guys at an event in the city earlier this year. I couldn't try it at the time for insurance reasons but it was really cool looking.

Has anyone seen the long haired dude who rides around downtown on a huge motorized skateboard? It looks like he holds the controller in his hand, doesn't have to kick or anything.

We saw a gentleman on an elliptigo a while back in the Paulus Hook area. Is this what you saw?

You were not seeing things. I too saw this man. It appeared to be a seatless unicycle? Maybe it was a cross between a unicycle and a Segway? Either way it was odd. I imagine he will be out and about while the weather stays nice because if you have a futuristic transportation device you must show it off around town. I'm not sure what it was but I'm sure it wasn't a hoverboard. That's all.

No, but around 3:20 p.m. I saw a gnarly traffic jam caused by the Cleveland Browns' motorcade. Five charter busses led by 2 state police cars and followed by an SUV. A friend and I saw that. We wondered who that was.
