Definite for Joe's Auto Electric if you're downtown. Have used them for 10? years. Reliable and totally honest.

And DON'T go to Pep Boys or you'll probably regret it later...

+1 for Joes. Stay away from anything on Marin especially the one closest to Columbus.

+1. Have used these guys since I've lived in JC and they're the best. Wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

Thanks for all the advice. I have actually had good experiences with oil changes and tire rotation at the Pep Boys on 440. I went into the one downtown once and walked out after being ignored by the staff.

Check -- there is a huge thread on auto repair on here -- getting work done on Sunday is tough -- but give Wrench Brothers a try on Monday -- they are often late opening but stay very late at night -- talk to Danny

Summit Auto Repair..great guys and fair prices

I just checked their Yelp reviews. They seem very well-regarded. Thanks for the tip.

I'm not 100% they can help for your specific needs but Joe's on maxwell alley (downtown) are fantastic. I imagine if they can't help they will point you in the direction of someone who can. I was so happy when I came across them. They are honest and good at what they do. Good luck.

My car is leaking coolant and I'd like to get it repaired by somebody trustworthy -- preferably downtown so I can walk home if I need to leave the car. I'd like to avoid Pep Boys if possible. Anyone know a spot?
