I guess the phrases "never assume" & "look before you open any door" didn't cross her mind. Oh , don't forget "ask who it is" too. You can say this is a lesson learned.

People should start using 'Find my car' app which can also catch crooks

A Jersey City woman's car was stolen after she let a man into her car, thinking it was her husband, reports said.

The victim was sitting in her 4-door silver Mercedes at 9:20 p.m. Friday at Baldwin and Hopkins avenue when she heard a knock on the passenger-side window and opened the lock assuming it was her husband, police reports said.

A stranger got into the car and barked at the woman "Get out of the car," reports said.
When she refused, the man walked around to the driver's side of the car and struck her in the head with a gun and then pushed her out the passenger-side of the vehicle, reports said.

The carjacker then drove off, heading westbound on Hopkins, which is an eastbound one-way street, reports said.
