'del forno' means 'of the oven' in Italian

Robins Oak. Pause.

Gawd, I can't believe I saw that up here. They are despicable, on another side of JC, yea? They are birds of a feather.

Only plus is if you can ignore the DelForno mess, you could still get a damn steal in downtown...so think about that, young people. I'm looking at you, young Moto-types...if you are even attracted to living in Jersey City anymore. :-/

Wow, someone sounds worse than RobinsOak Management! That's impressive.

It seems like such an easy thing to manage building maintenance, I can't understand why the bottom line to them is more important than customer service. They're sh*t at business if they think it is.

My new landlord seems pretty damn good so far, but I've yet to hear of any management company around here being over-the-top good more times than not.

I own next door to a Del Douche Forno building. Pretty disgusting to say the least. The backyard, which could be so nice is instead weeds and trees that grow into my porch. In addition, while home shopping a couple days ago I saw a listing to get real exciting about. Of course it was a typical bait and switch. A year old Del Douche listing, house was sold a year ago. WTF is that? There should be a law against false advertising. I'd steer clear of these douches.

They are terrible. Still haven't done repairs from Sandy. Most times they are completely unresponsive. Slum lords.

Never dealt with them as landlords, but they brokered the apartment we currently live in. I was able to negotiate with them on the broker fee and Dante was pretty helpful and always responsive when it came to showing us apartments and signing the lease. He worked around my always changing schedule also, which was a giant plus when apartment hunting the limited rental listings in JC during the dead of winter.

my first rental in JC was managed by del forno - it was back in 2000/2001. rented directly through the owner - a sweet little russian lady, but mailed our rent checks to del forno.
one day, came home to an eviction notice on the door. apparently, our rent check never arrived, and instead of calling us, they immediately started eviction proceedings on the 6th day of the month. they also only filed it in my name, when there were two of us on the lease...
i called them and explained that we mailed the check and we'll immediately send another, and they were super jerks to deal with. that was maybe our 5th or 6th month there, and we had to send our rent via certified mail after that.
we also started complaining about things to them via certified mail (broken things/lights out etc), and eventually discovered some illegal things going on with the lease/owner, which allowed us to break the lease in our 10th month and be free from del forno. the owner was really sweet, though, and she asked why we changed and became so unhappy, and we told her about the eviction (which is still on my record somehow!) and del forno being such jerks - she said she wished we had told her about problems with them in the beginning.
i doubt she stopped using them, though...

del forno are definitely the slum lords of JC.

Years ago my old landlord had Del Forno take over maintenance of her building. I would advise them of lights burned out in the hallway & front door & nothing was done .. for months. Advised them that the drain outside needed to be cleaned out. They didn't respond & the next big rain the first floor flooded. I was just a pain in the the neck to them ... good riddance I say.

Be grateful that you don't live in a building owned/managed by greedy Australians.

They bought the last building I was in and immediately got rid of the monthly cleaning svc that did the hallways and the monthly pest control. They then raised the rent on unoccupied apts by 50%. They were letting that bldg fall apart. They're kinda slummy in my opinion.

I am currently living in a Del Forno rental apartment. I have been pretty disappointed with them as landlords- it takes them a long time to respond to any maintenance requests.

I found them to be unresponsive as well (finding rental units, not mgmt co). I am surprised with all the competition in real estate they can afford to provide bad service.

DelForno, they have been wonderfully incompetent ever since I've been in Jersey. And I got here in 95'.

But you do have power. Learn the law and be empowered.

I never rented a place from them so I won't speak to their abilities as a management company. But when I was looking for a place to rent and saw their signs on a few potential apartments I liked, I called them and left numerous messages expressing interest. They never returned my calls, ever. If I was the owner of any of the unrented units, I wouldn't be happy with them. Apparently they didn't need the broker fee they would have gotten either.

They showed me some places, quite a few years back, and when my then spouse and I were lukewarm, the agent said that all of the properties were good enough, and most people didn't have the luxury to be picky.

We took our picky business elsewhere.

I have had them help me find properties and I have had them as landlords. When looking at properties, we definitely were not provided honest answers. As landlords, they were unresponsive at best.
