I really like Dr. Jeff pappert at http://www.hcprimarycare.com/drpappert2.html

He really takes his time to listen to you. He is the best doctor I have found in a very long time. His practice is located in the medical center building behind the hospital.

I know you prefer a female doctor (I usually do, too), but I can't say enough about Dr. Samuel Altstein. He's at Beth Israel Medical Group on 23rd St (just steps from the PATH!). He's patient, understanding and takes the time to make sure you understand what he's saying. And they accept Aetna.

Hi JCLISTERS,

Hope you are well. I am looking for a new primary care doctor. Any recommendations? I am looking for someone who is great at their practice and take time and care with their patients. Am not looking for a medical factory...which many practices resemble.

I prefer a female doctor(only because i always have gotten along better with the fairer sex) but again just a reminder(it's not a requirement) am looking for someone who is great in their practice of medicine and takes time and care in dealing with patients.

One last thing, I am still waiting to see where i fall in terms of the Affordable Care Act(Obama Care).....it's taking way too long........so hopefully your recommendations for a doctor take a variety of insurance.

Thanks!

Ps. Id like that the doctor be based either in JC, Hoboken, Weehawken, Union City, Fort Lee, West NY, Edgewater or New York City. I can basically reach all these areas with relative ease with public transportation.

Dr Boylan, 550 Newark Ave (near the courthouse) (201) 656-2300

I LOVE him, there is a bit of a wait when you get there but he listens and takes his time with patients.

I also reccomend Dr. Chinai, tried a couple docs before we found him. My wife and I have been going to him for years and are very happy. He has helped us with a broad range of injuries/illnesses/inquires...very knowledgable.

My parent have Aetna and they use the Pavonia Medical Group. Large office with plenty of overlapping coverages and access to specialties.

My husband share's the same frustration and ended up in NY. However, he also uses PromptMD at 309 1st St, Hoboken. It's only $90 a visit and Aetna reimburses some if not all of the visit (we're still waiting on the claim).

Dr. Ronak N. Chinai, MD, Jersey City, NJ - Internal Medicine
And his partner are both great and take Aetna.
They are in newly renovated offices on Newark.

Aetna is in a dispute with Jersey City Medical Center and doesn't cover doctors tied to Hoboken hospital either. It's very frustrating. We found a great doc in JC and now she's not covered. If you find someone please post it here.

My health care plan just switched AGAIN (arg, okay moving on). We need a new primary care doctor and would love to find one in the Jersey City/Hoboken area, so we don't have to go far when sick. We have Aetna- anyone use Riverview Healthcare Associates up on McWilliams Place?

Our Aetna doesn't cover a whole lot unfortunately, so options seem slim. Or does anyone with Aetna have a suggested doctor in JC/Hoboken?
