And with these responses in mind Fulop still wants mixed income neighborhoods and affordable housing intertwined in the same ward and the same structure. This will create a transient lifestyle. Condo apartment buildings are risky even the banks want 70% ownership. Buy a co-op or a house

Cause rich people live in P.Hook, well them and the Polish.

You should keep after this problem.
Take it as a major concern to the next neighborhood
association meeting. Get a conversation going on the subject; don't just mention it peripherally.
Then, take it to the monthly police meeting.
Get your stats down on paper -- how many times you called,
what response if any you got, how you contacted the owner,
etc, etc. Let the cops at the meeting know that you want
something done.
This has been a fairly quiet block the last few years; we do
not want to start a precedent of tolerance for bad acting.
Lots of new and very temporary people are moving in here and
they have little sense of this place and its history and
sooner than later they are out of here, so putting up with
their non-neighborly behavior does not pay off in the long
run. The hope that sooner or later they will become
domesticated is a false hope; they are here to party and
then move on when the lease comes due.
Don't stand still for anti-social behavior.

Still no show. So do you really think they would bother investigating two people sleeping on a sidewalk. There aren't enough officers to go around. The calls go unanswered and unattended. That is not to say we don't try !

It's true there are not enough police to go around I heard it myself at the Heights Captain's meeting, straight from the Captain himself. How do other towns in N.J. sustain themselves it seems they are able to cover their town'e needs. I think J.C. is the only city in Hudson County that seems to be short handed.

Don't waste you time, you have to call the radio room (201) 547-5477 or if it is an emergency call 911. All police calls are addressed on a priority basis meaning if only one or two people call it means low on the totem pole so a whole slew of people have to call.

its odd I have never noticed the problem, I guess its not just block by block, but building by building.

seriously, we have a wonderful neighborhood association - http://harsimuscove.org/, come out to the next meeting, Monday, July 9th, around the corner at Grace Church.

also, come out to the JCPD East District's Captain's meeting this Tuesday eveing.

these problems can be dealt with by getting together and working with your neighbors (and JCPD).

Now that is interesting info because it is as you described... lots of different faces coming and going all the time, partying all hours, smoking lots of substances, throwing beer cans around. And I've wondered what kind of jobs they work since someone seems to always be home blasting some techno music. Of course if they are somewhat transient they have no interest in being good neighbors. Sigh.

haha. ok, tighty whiteys is a little weird.

Not sure what the deal is with those guys; it may just be a culture thing. It also might be that they're only here a short time on a work visa or something. I've talked to a few guys at Luckys over the years that get brought over here to work for them and live basically a "dorm" lifestyle for a while then go back or go somewhere else. Some loved it, some hated it.

I don't think he actually "went there" as I was thinking it was Moshe's too. I have a bunch of these guys next to me and they're out on their porch every night/day grilling, smoking hookahs and partying. It doesn't bother me but I know my neighbors hate it.

I didn't see anything about "nude" sunbathing. underware is the same as a bathing suit anyway.

Well, Vigilante, since you "went there," yes, these guys are all Israeli. I do think a cultural difference contributes to the noise issue (and also the nude sunbathing issue? Who sunbathes nowadays?!).

This is starting to sound criminal. Make a record of all complaints, attent you local block association meeting, as well as the Capatin's meeting to address these serious issues. And what are they doing on your roof !

Shocking that the police didn't respond to a noise complaint.

Are these neighbors scary to you? Have you tried talking to them?

Some of my best neighborhood friends have come from opening up a dialogue about a dumb thing I/they did. The police really have better things to do.

We live on Third halfway between Jersey and Eerie and the music from this house makes our windows vibrate with the bass. It's plenty loud here and we're a few houses away.

I live on Third at Jersey (the west side of Jersey) and I've never heard them, so I'm not sure how loud it could really be. If in fact it is loud I totally sympathize with you and like you would resort to asking the police to intervene. But considering I can't live more than 150' away max and have never noticed, I wonder if you're being a bit noise-sensitive?
