The Holland Tunnel Salvation Army usually has a good selection.

Hey Tyler!

You can try Rackley Custom Upholstery & Antiques - (201) 451-0897 its on Communipaw in the BL section. They occasionally have some good deals. Enjoy The new space.

Hey GP you had the post about Tony?s place that is how I found it. Nice to see you posting again!

Here are two more that just popped up recently?.

Moose Lodge 266 in Jersey City holds flea market to help ease financial burdens

http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... e_266_in_jersey_city.html

I don?t know if this is going to be an every weekend thing but you can call..

Loizou said that more than 40 vendors showed up to the first flea market. The lodge charges $25 a table and offers customers free parking.

For more information about the flea markets and the lodge?s activities, call (201) 432-7579.

**** **

I was driving through Bayonne Sunday and saw a sign for a flea market. It was at the old bus garage. Across the street from the Broadway Diner, 53th and Broadway, Bayonne.

53th is the street to the TP entrance if you didn?t already know. I didn't stop in. I don?t know if it was a one time thing but driving by they had a lot of old furniture.

Yeah I've been there -- the Salvation Army not to Burke's Bar -- there is also one where Paterson Plank and Kennedy intersect -- just above the Heights.

Also besides the NYC flea markets -- for anyone looking for car day trips around Central NJ you might also try these:

Columbus Flea Market on Thursdays & Sundays:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/columbus-farm ... -and-flea-market-columbus

Lambertville's Golden Nugget on Wednesdays, Saturdays & Sundays:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/golden-nugget ... -flea-market-lambertville

Tip: If you are a die hard -- start early and you can hit both places on Sundays... my father is getting up there in years and enjoys this stuff -- so we often take him to these.

Thre is a huge Salvation Army with lots of furniture downtown on the Holland Tunnel exit road.

Right next to Burke's Bar, that favourite downtown watering hole.

Robin.

Interested people might also want to check out Wool Punk on Newark Ave between Monmouth and Brunswick downtown -- also there is another thread on here about Thriftiques -- great locatation -- we stop when we drive out to 440 for Home Depot, the farmer's market or whatever...

...and if you like big flea markets -- I second the Meadowlands on Saturdays!

Yes the place has many vendors. There are loads of new (knock off) items. But the real treasures are the basement / attic cleaner guys who bring everything.

I have seem some real nice old furniture there. Doesn?t hurt to give it a look see. The parking is free and it has plenty of food vendors. Love the corn!

Saturday 8 am to 4 pm

PS - oh I see you found the "fancy" DTJC second hand store already.

My two Saturday trips?..

Yeah this place is the best...nice and messy...Frank and Mike would love it!

http://site.thriftiques.com/

Then of course you have the old standby the Meadowlands Flea Market. Skip the newer stuff head straight for the older basement/attic cleanout section.

http://www.newmeadowlandsfleamarket.com/

I think there is a second hand store in DTJC..don't know where.

Hello Everyone,

I just purchased an old Victorian down by the Richard Street lightrail, I sold my studio downtown for more space and now I have many, many empty rooms. I am a huge fan of thrift shops, I only came across one in the Greenville section on Carbon http://site.thriftiques.com/Home.php which I love its a nice big warehouse and the owner Tony is willing to negotiate and he always seems to have lots of goodies, but I would like to find more thrift shops. It does not have to be in Greenville but that would be nice. I am in desperate need of lamps, tables, and art. Does anyone know of any other thrift stores in the area? I went to the one downtown on Jersey Ave. but the prices were very high. All feedback would greatly be apprieated.

Thanks in advance!

Tyler
