Certain oysters have recently been recalled. Those MAY not have made it to the northeast though.

Maybe we will try brunch at Maritime Parc ... how does it work ...local oysters cost $2.50 each a la carte at brunch?

Light Horse only has 2-3 varieties, Blue Points (constant) + 1-2 others. Can't expect a selection like Aqua Grill at any other place probably, sorry.

Or go to Citarella in NY by the 9th street path, have them shucked and put on ice(costs like a dollar/dozen I think), take the path back, sit on your front stoop and enjoy. For extra credit, throw the shells in the street.

Oysters start spawning around now, so they may not taste as good from now til september though.

I agree.

We had the Hamilton Park oysters and we didn't get sick, but they were not cold enough and we told them so. We tried again a few weeks later, but no change.

Thanks for all the great suggestions.I have tried Hamilton Park, they only have 2 selections.I will probably try Light Horse and Bistro soon and if i make it over to liberty state park i will try Maritime and Liberty house.
Actually I ate at Aqua grill last week and it was amazing.Great selection of Oysters as well as the rest of the menu. That is what actually got me to post this message in the first place.

I would caution against the Hamilton Inn oysters. We had a plate of them a few months ago and three people got sick afterwards.

In general, that place is very hit or miss. The fish tacos are awesome, other things not so much. Service can be great or awful, all depending on who you get.

I would just rock the PATH into the city and hit Aqua Grill. We had a selection of 4 varieties a couple weeks ago and they were fresh and delicious.

+1 Maritime Parc

Nice selection, the server was knowledgeable about oysters, nice presentation, neatly shucked.

The Lighthorse usually has a decent selection. Pair that with a nice, crisp savignon and you're done.
