I've heard lots of great things about Real Food in the city: http://www.realfoodcatering.net/aboutus.htm

Also, check out kvetch.indiebride.com for loads of info on caterers/everything wedding related.

Thank you for all of the suggestions - I will check them all out and I welcome more!

For cuisine, we need to keep it pretty "tame" in terms of flavors for the older family, so I want the focus to be on clean, fresh delicious food, beautifully presented - not buried under too much sauce, and not too much filler (pasta, potatoes, etc). Hope this helps some and thanks again.

Highly recommend Ellen, Secret Chef:

http://www.thesecretchefllc.com/weddings.php

She did our wedding last November at the Loew's and it was great - she was organized and collaborative and the food was very good. The Loew's doesn't allow any open heat so she had to be creative with prep and keeping things warm and it worked out just fine.

A new option in town is Maritime Parc which is in the new building at Liberty Marina. I ate at the restaurant and it was really good though pricey.

I have been using a restaurant out of Bayonne for some recent catering projects. They can do most anything to your liking and I've received rave reviews from my guests.

Call Anthony at LaGuardiola's - it's a busy local place, so you may want to make an appointment to stop in to chat with him. He's the owner and a super, nice guy.

I'm interested in finding a caterer in the area (JC/NYC/BKLN) to put together a wedding dinner for 100 or so. My expectation is that EVERYTHING would need to brought in because I'm looking at using a fairly raw space. Anyone have recommendations?

I understand Liberty House does catering, but I visited there as a potential venue and was not impressed by the way they operate.

Any ideas appeciated!
