Tommy,
It turns out you have your own boat and you're wondering where to take a chick on a first date? Hello!? Champagne and finger foods on the boat --> You da man!

Enough with the generalities. We want the specifics. Very specific.

Thanks for all the ideas, guys. I chose my old first date staple - Majestic. That was just over a week ago, and there have been 2 more dates since then!

I'm 6 for 6 for first dates at Majestic - each time I took a first date there, it ended up turning into a 2nd date!

tommy my man, take her to Teppan Hibachi. Ladies love the little show and it's got a great energy for the first date. You don't want to go too romantic on first date. Something light and fun.
Have a some Sake which is my all time favorite buzz

Komegashi II, get a table next to the windows in the back, at sunset the views of the city and the harbor with the passing boats is very romantic.

If it's not too cold out, sitting outside at Hamilton Inn is really nice - it's a tree-lined block with lights in the trees outside the bar - definitely some good romantic ambiance. Good drink menu and the food is decent.

Just the thought of all that food getting caught up in the little strands of their beards sounds sloppy... I wonder how the men handle it ? As far as plaid goes I'm no fashion guru but put me on a bike and I will reek with excitement. Excuse me but I will now leave to have my cupcake.

Seems like you hit most of the good spots! Marco and Pepe's on Grove is good. Very small and casual...cozy. Or Bar Majestic on Grove?

itd be cool if they let you sit at one of the tables in the bar.. not sure if they would if you're not eating but the bar is generally kinda cozy at bistro la source.

if you dont mind a short train ride i really have to recommend flatiron lounge on 19th st right off of 6th ave, 5 minutes from the path station. total perfect first date spot. dark, cozy, comfortable and you can have a conversation there. its got a speakeasy vibe to it and a great cocktail list. also if you get a little hungry theres boqueria a few doors down - awesome tapas place. we did this a couple weeks ago and it makes for a really cool date.

Wow. You must not get out around here too often. Though I'm guessing your scientific data on this is correct.

I think that Michael Anthony's is a great date spot. If you do opt for some munchies, the food is good, prices are reasonable and the views of the NYC skyline and harbor are terrific.

I have mentioned this place before sadly it is not in JC.

www.watersiderestaurantandcatering.com

It is nice and romantic. (if you take her there maybe JC will get knocked off the list)

Least sexually satisfied cities:

Jacksonville, FL
Greensboro, NC
Jersey City, NJ
Providence, RI
Newark, NJ

Good luck!

If you don't plan on eating, I would recommend Michael Anthony's for drinks on the back deck if it is not too breezy.

Can't vouch for the food as all I have had there is a cheese plate (which was sloppy but tasty)...

You really think the JC hipsters go to NYC? Not sure where you go out at night in downtown, but I see an awful lot of hipsters just about everywhere.

whatever place is closest to your apt.

seriously though, majestic is great as long as the music isnt too loud. skinners is kinda "meh" for just drinks. bistro la source is another good recommendation. south city grill is nice at the bar too. fire and oak is decent.

have you considered the golden cicada?
