Hey New what happened tonight/this morning. Two more shots were fired in front of the church? Is this random or premeditated?

this particular neighborhood in lafayette- from the light rail to pacific, and from where downtown ends to communipaw, hasn't had a shooting since the one at Dr. Lena Edwards park at the end of summer (as far as i can see from police reports and news stories). and if you go to the east district captain's meetings, we have less violent crimes, car thefts etc than downtown. not sure who "they" are either- as in the previous "at least they're keeping it in their neck of the woods"-
we have a very diverse neighborhood, old-timers, new young families, white, black, asian, hispanic, etc...

Man shot at Jersey City laundromat, police say

By Ken Thorbourne/The Jersey Journal
January 07, 2010, 8:14PM

A man was shot in the leg tonight at a Jersey City laundromat. He's shown here being taken to an ambulance. A man was shot in the hip tonight as he was robbed by three masked men at a Jersey City public laundry, police said.

The shooting at the Friendly Laundromat, located at the corner of Communipaw Avenue and Whiton Street, occurred shortly after 7 p.m., said police spokesman Stan H. Eason.

The victim was rushed to the Jersey City Medical Center where he was undergoing surgery, Eason said.

"It is a very active investigation right now," Eason said.
