We recently had engagement pictures taken in JC. The photographer was expensive, but worth it, as he made downtown JC look spectacular. The Exchange Place waterfront, including Paulus Hook Pier, gives you great shots of the NYC skyline. If you get a nice day, try to wait until the sun sets to get the orange reflection of the sun off the cityscape.

I recently got married in Jan. in DUMBO. We had some awesome pics of the east side as well as the bridges that came out great. but if you want to stay local, I would say LSP, or go to the waterfront in Hoboken.
