I've been using Star Cleaners on the corner of Newark and Coles, and am pretty happy with them...

For wash/fold, I've used Lucky Laundromat many times 577 Jersey Ave - they do large blankets too.

For dry cleaners, I use the one mentioned previously on Grove right near the path next to the tiny hair salon and near the weird tax prep place.

I agree, Tailor's Touch on the corner of 7th and Brunswick is fantastic!

Nicole (owner) is a sweetheart. She's always smiling and nice to talk to.

I have been very pleased by numerous alterations we've had done there. Everything from hems, to suit alterations, they do an excellent job.

I wouldn't want to live near, or work in a dry cleaners.

=================
Is 'organic' dry cleaning for real?

Is "organic" dry cleaning really organic? The Green Guide answers and the answer is Not Necessarily.

If you're concerned, ask your dry cleaner what they use to clean. Chances are it will be perchloroethylene. If you must dry clean and your cleaner uses perchloroethylene, here are some tips from the Sierra Club on how to minimize your exposure:

Remove the wrapper outside or in your garage. Let your clothes air out for at least a day, preferably four or five before wearing them.

n the meantime, try to move towards clothing that doesn't need to be dry cleaned.

Dry clean as infrequently as possible.

There is a cleaner on Newark Ave about a half block from the Grove PATH that is organic. They told me their method doesn't use a chemical, I assume it is the same one. I can't recall the price, but it wasn't unreasonable.
For location though, I go to the one on Jersey/5th. My only complaint is that they've used starch when I asked them not to.

I want to hear everyone's opinion on their favorite dry cleaner, and which ones to avoid.
