Hey, um.. really sorry about that. I lost my keys that night and, well, I was a little bit sauced if you know what I mean. No need to worry about it, I wound up sleeping at a friend's house. Again, really sorry about the noise.

The gunpowder thing, yeah, well, that's just wrong.

Hellooooooo.

Time to form a neighborhood watch. You can get the specifics on how to do it off the net. Exchange contact info and arrange it so that if someone sees something ..someone says something.

Trim branches that block street lighting & bushes that could provide hiding places for assailants. Distribute whistles to NW members. Noise scares away intruders. Of course gunpowder is a much more permanent solution. Shoot 'em if ya got 'em.

Yes, this is an apt building. The outside front door was locked and forced open. Then, once inside the vestibule area, the person began to literally kick the 2nd door in (which was locked )and break the frame until the noise got too loud and we came out to see what was going on.

Is this apt. building? Was access gained through ground floor, basement or upper floor if building? If building with multiple apts do you have a vestibule area? If so, how was entry made? unlocked vestibule door, forced entry of interior door, wooden door forced out of frame?

I ask these specifics so we might follow up on your report at this Monday's Downtown Jersey City Watch meeting at 7PM, Grace Church, entry through red doors on 2nd St, just east of 39 Erie St.
