I believe the only place on the East Coast that has Pliny is Philadelphia. This is determined by Russian River and distributors.

We are working hard to get Jersey City's first home brew store up and running here. Yesterday, our stock came in and we've heard a lot of requests. So even though we haven't had the grand opening yet, we are ready to take your orders. Our easy to use spreadsheet can be submitted to orders@thirstyquaker.com. Your order will be delivered directly to your doorstep. Click on the link for instructions and a link to the spreadsheet for orders. We look forward to being your one-stop home brew shop!

I'd like to see some regional brews from the Chicago and Midwest. A friend of mine brings back stuff I've never heard of every time he goes to Chicago. We can already taste a lot of East Coast brews at local places like Barcade. Why not be the only local place carrying stuff from the middle of the country?

Can't wait to get beermaking supplies locally. Hope your store has a nice scoop yourself grain setup like Brooklyn Homebrew in Gowanus.

An incredibly good list. If I may add:

Carton of Milk Stout
Maine Brewing Co. (MO in particular)
Green Flash West Coast IPA
Green Flash Green Bullet
Oskar Blues Ten Fidy
Founder's Breakfast Stout
Hitachino Nest White Ale

Yes! We will be doing growlers! It won't be ready to go on day one, but after we've settled in a bit we'll get our taps set up and start serving growlers, which means we'll be able to serve a lot of beers that don't get distributed in bottles or cans.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are moving along and are getting close to opening. We'll have our sign up soon, we're touching up the paint on the walls, and we have just a few last things to do in order to get our beer fridge wired up. The shelves will be getting filled up, and we're hoping to open in about 2 weeks, just in time for Christmas.

If you have any requests for beer, wine, whiskey, or anything else, please let us know what you'd like to see. Comment here, or visit us on Facebook to keep up to date.

Wow, this sounds great! I will pass this on to my husband. He will be so excited to hear that something like this is opening in our neighborhood. My husband has brewed 3 batches of beer already, so it will be a lot easier to get supplies down the street instead of online. Awesome!

@ thirstyquaker

That's awesome that you're going to have classes. I've always been interested in brewing my own beer.

I'm an optimist, but the thought's crossed my mind. I think bars and restaurants tend to see delays more than we will, since we won't have any food prep or cooking stations or anything like that.

Will you take suggestions or requests for beers? Congrats on your new business venture! Definitely excited to check it out when you open!
Yeah of course we'll take suggestions. New Jersey's distribution laws make it difficult sometimes to get some beers, but we're aiming to have a really good selection of beer.

Oh. So realistically, you're looking at what, March? April?

Yep! We'll be focusing on craft beer, but we'll have some macro beers, some wine, and spirits as well.
